Social, economic and environmental matters here and abroad are not getting better and they won’t get better until radical changes are wrought at the governmental-industrial and mass-economic level.

The appearance and departure of the Bush-Cheney administration was likely the apex of Euro-American governmental ruthlessness. If indeed Bush-Cheney represent the pinnacle of 21st century Euro-American political savagery then it is also likely—that we are witnessing the fall of Western Civilization. We should hope so and we should work to soften its crash landing.
