Thank you for your reply, especially the elucidation of "fundamental" in your schema. Your blog system did not alert me that you had replied.

Cynthia,
Thank you for the recommendation to include the 3 RNA's. I have acknowledged that the tables are far from a complete listing so suggestions are welcome.
The 26 foundational molecules are 20 amino acids (AA), 4 nucleobases and the 2 that serve as the “backbone” of the DNA molecule. One is the phosphorus and oxygen combo (phosphodiester bond) and the other is the carbon, hydrogen and oxygen combo (deoxyribose).

There are six molecules that precede and are responsible for the creation of the 20 AA. They are the 4 nucleobases and the two backbone molecules just mentioned. The six elements constituting the 26 foundational molecules are–hydrogen (H), carbon (C), nitrogen (N), oxygen (O), phosphorus (P) and Sulfur (S).

I would define fundamental as "coming first" at each respective scale. Other components not fundamental are derivatives or appear later or downstream. The least common denominators if you will. Six molecules come before the 20 AA molecules. Six elements come before the six molecules and six quarks come before the six elements. Each set forms the foundation of a scale of organization in the energy-matter spectrum.
If you see aspects not squaring with my schema then by all means point them out to me. I know you are chemist and you would know if I have missed or misplaced something.
You are by no means nit picking and work at this scale merits nit picking anyhow.

Hi.. I've been perusing your number chart and have a couple of questions/comments on the chemistry component. There are three types of RNA..that could be included in three.. Also not clear as to what you consider the 26 foundational molecules..(there are 22 amino acids)..or which 6 molecules are fundamental..and then..is it 6 or 26 that form the foundation? As for types of reactions, beyond the basic four of inorganic chemistry , there are solely oxidation-reduction reactions as well as myriad types of organic reactions. I am not trying to nit-pick here..only to clarify your characterizations, and to point out that, at least in the realm of chemistry..there could be many ways of arriving at fundamental numbers ..

I do think your basic premise is sound, that sets of numbers underly the order of the universe.
