		<description>I like Raymond Williams very much. I used to read him alot, early 80&#039;s. I&#039;m not sure how relevant he is for today.

Emergent culture (great term) I see as formation of consciousness. Emergent culture implies process but also established fact. I don&#039;t agree that culture is or prevailing culture is as the ruling class, wealthy class would have it defined. Formation of consciousness is the process itself.

I would say you have a point in this sense. Art, once upon a time, was what could be called, a sort of summation of emerging culture. That is, DaDa or Surrealism spoke the language of this summation, for example. Capitalism, however, consumed and digested Art. Capitalism Vs Nature, Nature will win if only because without Nature Capitalism cannot exist. Or is this true? Probably not.

Capitalism has overtaken Art. If you want Art, watch advertising co. and new technologies, there is the shaping of what is called Art.

Raymond Williams wrote about Art. It is 30 years since I read.

I&#039;m jealous of your computer skills. I cannot make page. Not patient.
  &lt;a href=&quot;http://futureofsanfrancisco.blogspot.com/&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;http://futureofsanfrancisco.blogspot.com/&lt;/a&gt;
