Message to Emergent-Culture Subscribers

On the Event Horizon

I will be concentrating on a specialty subject of mine over the next black holecouple of months. Therefore, the subject matter of my posts will not vary greatly over that time.

However, the subject is assuredly relevant to the emergent culture theme.

On first glance it may not seem so, but as I reveal and penetrate the subject more deeply I believe my readers will see the paramount value and relevance to the theme of emergent-culture.

I am referring to my work on Maya calendrics. Calendrics in general is a pertinent subject to the question of culture.

Towards a Universal Cosmology of the Planetary Culture

My report entitled The Distinctions between Natural and Artificial Calendar Systems: One Enlightens; the Latter Enslaves begins to relate how calendrics is culturally relevant and in particular why Mayan calendrics is of paramount importance to our understanding of how our reality, our lives and the universe in general is organized.

260 day tzolkin

The 260 day Tzolkin cycle forms the basis of Maya candrics and is the knowledge on which I will develop the Science of Synchronicity.

I will be making my case for the foregoing statement in subsequent articles. I am attempting to establish Maya calendrics as a the Science of Synchronicity and as universal cosmology.

A cosmology is akin to a worldview. A cosmology being only more expansive in scope.

Culture is a reflection of ones worldview/cosmology and vice versa.

A bonafide universal cosmology will apply to everyone regardless of one cultural particulars or personal beliefs.

A verifiable universal and humanistic cosmology implies a synthesis of science and spirituality.

And it also begins to invoke the Planetary Myth or story that Joseph Campbell spoke of. The Planetary Myth is the story of humanity as a whole.

According to Joseph Campbell, the Planetary Mythos is a prerequisite for the next stage of humanities socio-cultural evolution and that is what Emergent-Culture is all about.

Clicking on the Planetary Mythos link will take you to a 2 minute segment of a video interview where Campbell discusses the idea of the Planetary Myth with Bill Moyers. The video quality is a tad weak, but Campbells words are as stirring as ever. I highly recommend it.

With regards to the science of synchronicity, part 1, The Tzolkin Code and the Science of Synchronicity: A New Way to See and Experience the World and part 2, The Tzolkin Code and the Science of Synchronicity: Self-Organizing Systems form Atoms to Humanity.

As always you comments and questions are welcome.

Sincerely,

Rohaan Solaré

“The material of myth is the material of our life, the material of our body, and the material of our environment, and a living, vital mythology deals with these in terms that are appropriate to the nature of the knowledge of time.”
