Amused and Abused into Oblivion: Western Culture Illustrated By Huxley And Orwell
Aldous Huxley and George Orwell offer contrasting views of the enslaving methodologies
employed by the governing classes and of the cultural conditions most apt to bind us.
In actuality both men were correct on every point.
Both methodologies are employed in the domestication process.
The last item about inflicting pain pertains to inflicting the fear of pain or death…”watch out for the terrorists”.
Orwell saw the coercive methods and Huxley saw the seductive ones.
Make the ball and chain look so attractive that
you can’t help but put it on yourself.
They know our brains and biology far better than we do.
Who owns you?
